Performing Arts

Performing Arts are featured both as curricula and extra-curricula activities at the Bush School.

Our school has a reputation for having an exceptional Music program, including choirs who have many opportunities to perform at assemblies, festivals and concerts throughout the year.

A lunch time Ukulele Club has been running for a number of years at the school, with all children across the school welcome.

8.15 am - JUNIOR CHOIR (year 2) rehearsal

Recess - ukulele club

1.05 pm INTERMEDIATE CHOIR (year 3 and 4) rehearsal - bring lunch.

8.00 am - SENIOR CHOIR (year 5 and 6) rehearsal.

All activities take place in the music room at the top of the boardwalk.

The school's outstanding Band program is managed by Mrs Kate Spencer. The school has five award-winning bands that you can read more about on the Band page.

Recorder Group

The Bush School also has a very enthusiastic Recorder group for Years 1 & 2.

The school is fortunate to have three Dance groups: Junior (Years 1-2) Intermediate (Years 3-4) and Senior (Years 5-6).

The Dance groups are a very popular part of our Performing Arts program.

Visiting Performers

Each year, the school enhances the opportunities for students by inviting a range of performers to visit the school: eg. Musica Viva, Oz Opera and indigenous artists to celebrate NAIDOC week.
