Band News - Term 3, Week 9

BAND NEWS – Term 3 Week 9

One week to go – keep sending in your recordings uploaded to Google Classroom, or schedule a time to record at school with your tutor.

A huge thanks to all students who have so far contributed to the Virtual Band Project! We have received over 60 recordings for A Minor Journey so far, and all truly reflect each individual’s effort, commitment and passion. Concert and Intermediate Band students, please keep sending in your recordings of Burns Road March (Intermediate Band and Concert Band) and Kelvin Grove (Concert Band). Upload them to Google Classroom, or, book a time in with your tutor to record at school next week.

It’s not too late to be a part of this exciting initiative! Guide tracks have been emailed to parents and are also on Google Classroom for the students to access. Many students are choosing to record their part/s at school with the assistance of their tutors. Permission notes have also been emailed to parents should you wish your child to record their piece/s at school with the assistance of their tutor, on school devices. Please note that students wishing to record at school are required to bring their own headphones/earpiece, and a signed permission note.

The Junior Band piece is A Minor Journey.

The Intermediate Band pieces are WPS Burns Road March and A Minor Journey.

The Concert Band pieces are Kelvin Grove, Burns Road March and A Minor Journey.

Students may upload their recorded part to their respective Google Classroom page.

The following link https://drive.google.com/file/d/1Id95290Cgdp4oxEkZwiwgoALLoig2ujN/view outlines how to upload recordings to Google Classroom for the Virtual Band Project.

Please keep practising your parts of Enchantment, Regency Fanfare and Stadium Rock. We hope that rehearsals will be able to resume in Term 4, and have some exciting plans for then.

Stage Band is continuing via online tutorials for the remainder of Term 3. Please access these through Google Classroom.

Recorder tutorials have resumed online for the remainder of the term via Google Classroom.

Please do not hesitate to contact Kate Spencer or Kylie Lee in the Burns Road Band Room on the below details should you have any queries on how to access these tutorials.
