Band News - Term 3, Week 10

BAND REHEARSALS AND RECORDER TUTORIALS ARE BACK ON FOR TERM 4!

We are very happy to confirm that government guidelines stipulate that band rehearsals and recorder tutorials are able to resume in Term 4 under a COVID-safe plan.

As the most recent guidelines were only released yesterday, we are in the process of planning band and recorder tutorials for Term 4. During the holiday break, an email will be sent to the parent contact of all students in the Band Program, outlining how the term will transpire.

For students in Concert Band, we are planning and working towards band tour being able to proceed later in the term in line with COVID-safe guidelines, with further details to follow.

VIRTUAL BAND PROJECT:

Thank you to all students who have participated in the Virtual Band Project. We are listening to all the recordings and it is evident how much practice has gone into the project. There are a few students who are finalising their recordings in the first week of term (Wednesday 14 October is the absolute final date for submission), so if there are any students who are still keen to be a part of the project, please let us know. Recordings can either be completed at home, or book a time with your tutor to record at school during your tutorial time on Monday 12 or Wednesday 14 October.

A reminder:

The Junior Band piece is A Minor Journey.

The Intermediate Band pieces are WPS Burns Road March and A Minor Journey.

The Concert Band pieces are Kelvin Grove, Burns Road March and A Minor Journey.

Students may upload their recorded part to their respective Google Classroom page.

The following link https://drive.google.com/file/d/1Id95290Cgdp4oxEkZwiwgoALLoig2ujN/view outlines how to upload recordings to Google Classroom for the Virtual Band Project.

Thank you for your warm support of the Band Program this term. We wish you a happy, safe and relaxing holiday break, and look forward to seeing you in Term 4.
