Band News - Term 4, Week 6

BAND NEWS – Term 4 Week 6

This week, the Year 2 students enjoyed a special demonstration and performance from some of the students in Concert Band. The senior students spoke about their instruments and played them so the Year 2 students could have a better understanding of what the instruments looked and sounded like. This was the first stage in introducing Year 2 students to the Band Program. Information notes and enrolment forms were distributed to Year 2 students this week – parents who are interested in enrolling their child into the band program for 2021 are invited to send the form back to school no later than Friday 27 November, indicating their child’s preference for instrument. Students are asked to choose three instruments in order of preference and we guarantee that they will be allocated one of these. It is necessary to do this so we have a balanced band in terms of instruments. Thanks to Frieda M (flute and piccolo ), Lily G (clarinet), Elia R (alto sax), Alec B (tenor sax), Amelia A (bari sax), Audrey L (French Horn), Sebastian P (trumpet), Sasha T (trombone), Nehara (euphonium), Oscar P (tuba), Arki J (bass guitar) and Jack P, Navanj G and Anikan N (percussion) for demonstrating your instruments with such enthusiasm and for being such wonderful ambassadors for the Band Program.

Concert Band students are working hard in preparation for Band Tour from 2-4 December to Coffs Harbour. Concert Band students please note, rehearsal on Tuesday 24 November commences at 7:30am sharp so we can have a complete rehearsal of all nice pieces we are taking on tour.
